Hobbies & Interests
I love fashion because it feels like one of the most personal ways to express creativity, individuality, and personality. My mom and I are constantly sending each other red carpet looks, magazine editorials, and outfits from events, which has become one of my favorite rituals. I am also always thinking of new designs, searching for unique finds, and imagining how a piece could come to life. Over time, I became close with a seamstress, and now I send her fabrics and work with her to create looks I have envisioned. I am drawn to elegant style with one unexpected detail: something slightly funky, personal, or different that makes the outfit feel like it belongs to the person wearing it. Fashion, to me, should feel expressive rather than trend-driven, which is why the rise of fast fashion and everyone wearing the same momentary trends has made me become a fashion critique and maker.
I have recently realized just how much I love cooking. Restaurants and ambiance are always fun, but there is truly nothing like a home-cooked meal, especially when it is made for someone else. I love challenging myself in the kitchen, whether it is homemade empanadas, a rare ribeye dinner, lemon date cake, or a recipe from a culture I want to explore. Cooking has become one of my favorite love languages: asking someone their favorite meal, surprising them with it the next day, or sharing extra baked goods with the people around me.
Athletics has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was a gymnast for 10 years, became number one in Texas for my skill level, and placed sixth in the nation, experiences that taught me discipline, consistency, and dedication from an early age. I also played football, lacrosse, volleyball, and softball, earning MVP recognition in each sport along the way. The picture shown is of me doing a flip mid-air, capturing a moment that reflects the energy and commitment gymnastics required. Although I now mostly play sports recreationally with friends and enjoy watching them on TV, athletics continues to shape my character, mindset, and the way I approach challenges.
I love turning everyday plans into posters, whether it is a walking invite for a friend, a birthday dinner, Galentine’s, or a small surprise. Even something as simple as a daily walk can become more fun when it is treated like an event. For me, posters are a way to add creativity, humor, and personality to ordinary moments.
My love for cars naturally led me into Formula 1, first through drivers like Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo. After attending the Miami Grand Prix a few years ago, the energy, speed, and design of the sport made it even more exciting to follow. One day, I hope to return to a Grand Prix and maybe even meet a driver or team in person.
I love reading because it gives me a way to escape reality, unwind, and disconnect from the world for a little while. I mostly read novels, but every now and then I like to pick up a psychological analysis book or something nonfiction. One of my favorite authors is Joël Dicker, and I always recommend The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair or The Enigma of Room 622 to anyone looking for a book that is impossible to put down. His plot twists and storylines are so unexpected that I constantly find myself wondering how another person could come up with ideas like that.
Hosting is one of my favorite things, and making charcuterie boards have become my go-to way to bring people together. They are the perfect social starter while food is still being prepared, giving everyone something to gather around, snack on, and enjoy. I love the process of arranging food beautifully and seeing how quickly a board turns into a place for conversation, laughter, and connection.
